6 month Check up

My Ali girl was 6 months in December and doing great. We hadn't started her on much food yet cause at her 4 month check she was still a little low on the weight charts (still bigger than her sister was) and we had to get her more fat. We did start cereal at around 5.5 months and the doctor cleared us for veggies. She eat like a champ. She was 25 In long (~25th percentile) and 13 lb 15 oz. (~20th percentile) She started rolling a little before 4 months and got around with a purpose by 5 months. She was sitting pretty well at 6 months but not for long periods of time.
happy half birthday

Our MV

After we had 2 kids--Andy and I decided my 2 door Alero was not going work any longer. We had been procrastinating buying a new car and had looked at about 50 different SUV's and crossovers but decided that a Minivan made the most sense! Our crazy 2 car garage is just that--a 2 car garage so when both cars are in there you can not open doors all the way...so sliding doors made the most sense.... At the end of November we really got serious and shopped around and were able to negotiate a pretty good deal! This was the first car we actually had to negotiate on because we didn't go with a GM product...
Andy calls it our MV--trying to deny the fact that he drives a minivan, but I can not tell you how many times he has looked at me and said-- I really like this van...

I still can't believe I went from a cute little sporty 2 door red car to this...but as you can see in the first picture 2 kids in the back of the Alero was way too squishy!

Random November & Thanksgiving 2008

Still Catching up...

Matching sisters..yet again...

We started Sippies with a little water in November and she did great with them!

We hosted Thanksgiving again this year with my parents and Andy's parents. Andy frys a turkey! YUMMM! I could not get a good picture of the two pink polka dot Monkeys---

We started to decorate for Christmas and Sammy loved the train.

Andy finally set up his Dad's train from when he was a kid.

Day off

I am now off one day a week. I volunteered at work for a cost cutting program to reduce my hours. I now only work 32 hours. We have enjoyed some Mommy time with crafts and books etc. I am still getting used to being home--even just one day--and had a bit of a panic attack when the first paycheck showed up. : )
Ali has a cold so she is not feeling well and I feel so bad for her. Our furnace broke this morning so I had to call a tech out... always an adventure! Thank goodness it just needed a cleaning!

Here are a few pictures from our Mommy Days--yes Sammy likes her pajama mornings!

Last week we made a tree house for Sammy's Thumbelina fairy dolls that she got for her birthday!
This was supposed to be our project while Ali took her morning nap but she decided she didn't want a nap so that was fun trying to stop baby godzilla from destroying the "tree house."
This week--we had to move everything out of the way for the furnace guy to fix it!

At one point I had to grab the phone so as I took Ali upstairs to talk to Nana on the phone I could hear Sammy telling the poor repair guy her life story and showing him everything she could drag into where our furnace is. She is definitely my talker....yikes.. I even heard Andy tell her while they watched the bulls game..can you be quiet for maybe 2 minutes...and she just kept right on talking...

WOW SO BEHIND!!!!

So I am sitting at the kitchen table while Sammy colors with her dot to dot paints and Alaina is napping...so I figured I should attempt to blog sine I haven't in FOREVER. My baby is going to be 1 in 6 weeks...Sammy turned 4 a few weeks ago...
SO I may just have to go back a few weeks and then catch up on the rest someday...or just post the pictures and not try to write.

halloween--finally-

Still catching up on old posts.

So this year I figured Sammy would want to be Snow White or Belle (which we had a dress that Grandma had made from her birthday) but to my surprise she started telling everyone that she was going to be an orca whale...really an orca...I know she loves marine mammals but oh boy...so I started looking for an orca costume and could not find anything for kids..that wasn't WAY more than I wanted to spend and on ebay....then my Mom said she would make something but I was not sure that was a good idea...so one night while I was on ebay Sammy saw a dolphin costume and decided that would be good..so I started bidding ..but again everything ended up way more than I wanted to spend... so I found a PENGUIN at Gymboree..and I took her there to try it on and she agreed...phew..penguin it is...until the day before Halloween when she said OK I will be Belle...what...then no I want to be the penguin...

Luckily Auntie Laurie had found Ali the cutest Mermaid costume and she is still too young to tell me what she wants to be.

Then of course I bundle up my girls like it is going to be 40 degrees and raining--like it always was when we were kids--and it was 60 degrees. Poor Sammy was sweating, but still enjoyed her trick or treating adventures! And she Loved giving out the candy this year.

Auntie Janice got us a book of Disney pumpkin stencils so Andy agreed to make which ever one Sammy chose... she chose one of the hardest ones but Andy held up to his promise. I of course had to gut the pumpkin cause Andy won't touch the "goo" but I thought he did a great job!

Here are a few other shots from Daycare.

I got the cutest treat!
